Finally a vacation! Visiting wife's family in Missouri.

Unfortunately, tainted by the death of the minister of our former church who passed away...my wife and I were the first couple married when they got their new facilties. So part of the vacation was spent preparing for the funeral.

The good part was being able to see friends who we've lost touch with for over a decade! Folks who were children when we were members now have families and careers of their own!

On the way down to Spencer I saw a remarkable 58 edsel based motor home....reminded me of the old cadillac campers they used to make in the seventies from old caddy hearses. I never saw an edsel hearse though.

Later I saw a very clean 380sel at a used car lot south of Cloverdale.

And as I drove through Putnam co. (I went to jr hi and high school there) I passed a good many memorable places...the old drive in where I kissed a girl first is now a used farm implement dealer (at sr 36), my old gf's house and several memorable barns where I put up hay in summer of '66. The place I used to buy 5 cent double cola is now a fruit stand. ON the south side of Greencastle I passed the place I blew the motor on my '60 Simca and the drive in where when my date and I sat up the movie was over and everybody else was gone. She prob was embarressed as she was a good girl.

After picking up the parts I hooked up with the kids and grandkids at Turkey run State park and did the infamous trail three where you walk up the creek bed carved out of limestone and come back down the cliffs on a series of wooden ladders. Five adults five kids from 3 mo to 6 yr and a small dog. Fun stuff. My lovely daughter #3 swore she wouldn't come back to that trail until her kids were a lot bigger!

great weekend.

This morning sucked. Got paid a visit from an inspector from a neighboring state who was looking for a copy of a pesticide license for someone we sold some product to who was apparently using a bogus applicator license. We send a quarterly pesticide purchase report listing all of the purchasers and their applicator number on it and the name and number didn't match up. Of couse the guy who usually handles that fun stuff is away until Monday making me the guy by default. I spent over an hour pouring over the files trying to find all of the copies for all of that state's licenses, to no avail. They may very well be here and I just couldn't find them. Worst case scenario for us is getting another Dealer License and getting a 1 year probationary period. Worst case scenario for the guy who bought it is much, much worse.

This weekend would have to be better. I need a beer. Or two. Or three.

Figures, I'm stuck here at work waiting for my father to show up from one of his daily junkets. My brother took off early to go camping and my co-worker (ex cousin-in-law) took this week off. I get to continue my most excellent day.

Good help is hard to find.

I'm coming Sammies....

3... When I bought old cars, I usually had 4 -- my wife put an end to that. :P

The wagon has to sit outside since we have a 2.5 car garage.
