What a great Friday it has been! Weather's nice. I left work at three and came home and spent the afternoon working on my latest house project. I might actually get it finished tomorrow. Woohoo!

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Going to a blues concert tonight and another blues festival tomorrow, and squeezing in the remainder of my bookcases and cabinets project in between. The weather's great. The weekend is nearly here, and life is good.

Have a terrific weekend everybody!

Well, the day I've been dreading has finally arrived. It's time to bring my old retriever for his last trip to the vet. He's 15yo, we got him just before my oldest son was born so they grew up together. The time was actually about a week ago, but my son has had a real tough time coming to grips with it. I've been carrying him in and out to pee and poop for the last 3 days. We let him stay home from school today, he's been laying on the floor with him all morning. My daughter had a test this morning so she went in for that, then my wife is picking her up at 11:30.

I'll let them lay with him for the afternoon and then bring him in when I get out of work.

The dog and I had a love-hate thing for the first 7-8 years but the old guy has really grown on me over the second 7-8. Sure puts a crapper on the weekend but (probably) fortunately we've got quite a few activities on the calendar this weekend so there won't be too much sitting around and feeling sorry for ourselves.

This is one of my favorite pics from a few years ago with my youngest. The dog was great with all of the kids. He wasn't allowed on the couch. You can see how well he trained us.

Oh man Swamp, that is always tough - more so when the kids are along for the journey. Good on you and the missus for letting the kids do what they need to do....

Swamp, I'll be thinking of you and yours this weekend...

I have a similiar situation going on with my assistant and his two wolf/husky hybrids. The male, Zasthros, passed away on Wednesday and his twin sister, Dee-O-Gee, hasn't eaten anything since Thursday noon...and she was the worse of the two going into Monday.

I'll leave this where it's at...

May our memories of this weekend be those that bring us peace and comfort from the good times and moments we're all able to take in and hold forever.

Sorry to hear swamp...Hope you and your family are able to get through it without much trouble.

I'll be up in your neck of the woods this weekend for a gathering of the blue-hairs (family reunion).

Thanks, guys. 3:30 is the time. It would figure the time seems to be flying by.

Sorry to hear that you're losing a family member, Bill. I'm sure it will be hard for everybody involved.

I hope you brought your tissue with you.

Our beloved dog is 16 years old, and is getting closer to the time when we'll have to make this decision.

It's frankly hard to even think about it without tearing up.

A toast to my kid who started his Salmon River job today. Haven't decided whether Manhattan or Old Fashioned at this point. A big fat roasting chicken is turning on the spit as we speak, the corn is tasseling, not a single animal is sick, all babies survived and many are already ordered, the girls are putting out 200 dollars a day's worth of milk and it's all pre-ordered through fall. Ah summer... Happy friday all...

Proving once again that I know how to party on a Friday night.....

Tethered by 859 wires and tubes and contemplating how the H E double hockey sticks I'm supposed to fall - and stay - asleep like this.
