I really doubt Benz-Lgb has children that are self important, jacka**, and spoiled brats like the Menendez brothers were. They were spoiled rotten, and that's why they killed their parents, for more money.

i started working when i was about 8 or 9....selling all occasion cards and christmas cards. as one of eight children of a man who worked in the studebaker factory, we didnt expect any money to come our way from mom and dad. and it didnt.

but they loved us and instilled the concept of getting an education and we are a pretty successful group and all except one of us has at least a two year degree from college.

my first bike was a hand me down from the neighbors.

my second one was brand new earned by selling 120 boxes of cards.

my third one i built using a frame i found in the woods and the mechanical parts from the second one.

and with a 52 tooth front sprocket it had a high gear slightly higher than a ten speed. it also had a paint job that i put on it. i got compliments on it.

see counting teeth on a sprocket is an easy to calculate gear ratios.

the same as diff gears.

before i was done with bikes i learned to respoke wheels from scratch. try that sometime. if you master it it is a real confidence builder.

I don't have to choose, I can have both.

I think that it is a mistake to assume that talent and arrogance go hand in hand.

BTW, that's Miranda rights. Just want to make sure you know, next time you get arrested.

My wife and I made the same choice as your parents--we have made some pretty big sacrifices in order to send our kids to private school.

Hope it turns out as well for them as it seems to have turned out for you.

Thanks, and I'm sure your kids will turn out better than you can imagine. After all, they have mom and dads DNA, and they won't forget the sacrifices you have made for them. Most of the arrogant kids I knew in school had equally arrogant parents.

Don't think my uncles were. However, they persuaded the old man to give them their inheritance today. Soon after, they even tried to kick him out of his own house.

So would anyone. However, sometimes, that is not the case. So, like I said, if I had to choose, results first. Other things are a negotiable second.

Good for you.

Not assuming it does but sometimes it does.

I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say can or will be used against me in a court of law. I have the right to have an attorney at any time during questioning. If I so desire and cannot afford one, one will be provided to me at no cost. I may choose to exercise these rights at any time during questioning. I should choose to exercise these rights even when the cop says I don't need an attorney. Did I miss anything out?

Sounds like you have heard Miranda on many ocassions...

Actually, you don't need the wording after "provided at no cost."

Following the reading of Miranda, the officer will ask you:

1. do you understand these rights as I have explaiend them to you? (yes or no).

2. If the perp answers yes, then the officer will ask: "keeping these rights in mind, do you now wish to speak to us about...(...)?"

Miranda must be given only after the suspect is in custody (arrest) and no longer free to leave the "company" of the officers.

That's a double edged sword also, because when you have to look a family man in the eye and fire/lay him off, you run the risk of retribution.

My mechanic lives in and owns outright, a beachside home where I live. He also owns outright, a 2 million dollar commercial property one block from the ocean that he rents. He also own several rental homes,outright.. He also still owns his former home in upstate Ney York. He also owns a buy here-pay here car lot, where he leaglly charges almost 30% interest. That shows what hard work can do. He still gets his hands dirty, and is a well respected member of the local chamber of commerce, he wear a suit to the mothly lunches. Many of his college educated suit wearing customers ask him if they can make payments on the repairs he makes to the cars they they can barely afford because they don't have the money to pay him. His wife flys to Ney York to shop for clothes and jewlery.

btw, please excuse the poor grammer, I'm trying to watch Fox news and help the wife cook dinner all at the same time. Thanks.
Hey, well put. There be downsides to being in a suit all the time and telling people what to do, such as candy-assed-ness. We built a house for an investment banker in Palo Alto -- the guy could buy and sell me 10 times before breakfast but he was a fat-a$$ed Norbert and his wife was a terror who crammed the gorgeus house we built with so much furniture, it was hard to walk around in. This I know cuz I went back to do some maintenance in subsequent years.

It's amazing how often women with a silk suited, soft handed, big bucks guy will get hot for a working "stiff." Hate to sound like a braggart, but I've seen it happen.

On the poor grammar part, JH, I think watching FOX news is your problem there.

You'll never agree but I see most people like that as resource gobbling factories. We're way outta control of the excessive consumption thing and there's going to be some rude awakenings ahead, sorry to say.

...and it's a hard raaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnn, gonna fall.

Yes. However, before the suspect is in custody (arrest), the officer may question you and still hold what you say against you in a court of law. I was told that since I wasn't under arrest, I didn't need an attorney. Biggest mistake. Since then, I have vowed that I would NEVER answer a question from a cop, no matter the subject, even if it was the time of day, without an attorney. Cost me over $2000 to learn that and clear myself. Sometimes I think OMERTA does have it's value.

Depends on who "we" is. The human race? Yes. The US only, NO. I think we have argued this before where you believe it is only the US that does this and I tell you that everyone in the world does this given the chance. Take an extended stay in any country and you can see the same thing. What of it? Seen the same things happen in Singapore, Malaysia, Thialand, Vietnam and the list goes on.
