from GateWorld:

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/08/istargate_sg-1i_cancelled_iatlan.shtml

from the beast itself sci-fi:

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=2&id=37607

very sad.....

MGM is fighting back:
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/08/mgm_considers_isg-1is_future.shtml

luckily this is MGM backing SG1. I really do hope they ultimately come back..there is absolutely NO reason not to. bad ratings? no. bad acting? no bad plot? no. no more story lines? no.

SAVE SG1 !

I thought we all showed up to roll the die and get some D&D on...Well, wrong room, again.

OK, I'll come out of the closet and admit that I played D&D when I was a kid. With actual people and not on a computer. I remember my Dad hated it and though it would rot my brain.

In actuality, that along with the love of Sci-fi, has helped me tremendously to be a creative thinker - my opinion of myself, so take it for what it's worth.

I remember trying the whole D&D thing years later in college - it just wasn't the same. I guess by that time I'd been beaten down by the man.

On the other hand, I did try the Baldurs gate thingy a while back and it was pretty neat, I just don't have the loads of time required to play around with those things.

I still love a good game of Risk though.

I didn't learn about D&D until college, than I made fun of it. Sorry but that has to be one of the most pointless games, not to mention no hot girls like it that I can see.

Yep, that was a drawback with regard to D&D in college. I was way more interested in chasing girls than anything like that. Plus other stuff like spending time at the lake or just hanging out - oh yeah, and occasionally that school stuff too.

I would say that as a kid D&D was no more pointless than watching 10 years of Stargate.

I started with Stargate when I was only 11, since I am commited I can't stop until I have seen the end of the series.

I am still not quite sure what D&D is exactly. I just know certain people are really into it and its some sort of game.

I played D&D in highschool and college, and forgot about it. Then, I ended up getting a group together toward the end of law school, off for the bar, on again until results. After that, no more time for anyone as we all passed.

Its great fun, and I hate "poker" get togethers, I think they're so lame. Hot chicks don't dig it, but they don't like a lot of stuff I do anyway.

Oh yeah, Baldurs Gate (I & II) were awesome.

I eventually met and married a hot chick. Though she never played D&D in High School, she claims that she thought it was kinda cool at the time. She enjoys most of the stuff I do, except I cannot seem to interest her in learning how to fix a car...

I've always been into strategy games; civilisation, warcraft, etc... (though baldurs gate was enjoyable) I haven't played one in years though, not a whole lot of time with work, kids, owning a house, etc...

Avalon Hill board games when I was a kid. I got into Zork later on and then sort of lost interest.

Weren't those the guys that did Diplomacy? Waaaaay better than a poker game - much greater oppurtunity to screw your opponents and even moreso your friends.
