The report did not sound like a gun fired inside a room--it sounded like a gun fired outside. I vote fake.

I think it was real with edited sound. Regardless, this is why my guns are in a heavy Browning presidential safe and a vault.

He looked at the camera too quickly. If it were real he'd be looking at the gun or his hands to see if he blew them off. IMHO

That's the best argument yet. Still, I think Azimuth's got the right idea.

On the other two, just what the world needs, a 60 cal. hand gun.

Anyone know how big that kind of elephant gun is? I'm not nearly as gun savvy as most of you guys -- I remember firing a 12 gauge shotgun a few times as a teenager with my dad and some of his friends. Bruised the hell out of my poor li'l shoulder.

There was a scene in the movie "Witness" that was just wrong. Danny Glover came running around a corner because he heard Harrison Ford digging the dead guy's shotgun out of the few tons of corn he'd dumped on the guy, just in time for Ford to ventlilate his vital organs. Glover slowly slid down a wall, holding his shotgun feebly with one hand, pointing up, and firing one last round before he expired. The gun didn't even move. Yeah, right. They must have edited in the sound and the muzzle flash after the fact. Even a blank would have had more recoil than that, which was exactly zero.

That was one of my favorite flicks at one time CMAC. I never noticed the lack of recoil though. He should try shooting my Benelli M1 super90 with one hand........
