Every once in awhile one of those pops up on ebay, what a peice of trash. You can buy real SL500's for $10k, whats the point of buying that bucket?

Just look at the interior, honestly atleast if you make a replica of a $100,000 car, make it look half-decent.

I remember when the kits came out (back when the SLs were still $60-80K), and the build quality back then was still crap!

But as Hatterasguy puts it, why mess with a problematic POS replica when you can get a real one for a decent price? For that matter, the R129 series are actually pretty reliable vehicles anyway...

I had an 88 Lebaron (ex-wife's idea). Everytime I think about it, I want to

The dash will go out if you drop a penny in the ashtray.

Yes, you could've gotten parts at salvage yards.....10 years ago when there were still a few running Lebarons left. With luck all of them are now part of some piece of rebar in the 3 gorges dam.

Yes, that is true, but keeping it on the road is another matter. Not everybody can afford to maintain the SL.

Not that I am for buy a POS like this. But I guess some people have the urge to fool others. Like wearing a fake Rolex.

I dislike fake crap, if you can't afford the real thing don't pretend, it just looks sad.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a fake Rolex. $50 would be better spent on a Fossil.

You don't like the Chrysler emblem on the steering wheel

Have to give the seller some credit - he is telling more about he car than the previous seller.

Would he freak if someone registered as sheriyoung36 and bid on it?

Hmm. I had an 89 Lebaron and Loved it.

it was a 5 speed, convertable, 4 cyl turbo. intercooled, and it FLEW! me and my sister and her husband DESTROYED the interior, and after some POS scumbag cut the top to steal some cassettes, it kinda went downhill from there.
the motor kicked a$$ though.
