I'm a big 007 fan, the latest movies have been a bit weak. Way to much action and not enough plot. Goldeneye was the last of the greats IMHO. Although Goldfinger, and From Russia with Love were great.
I'm just happy to see 007 is still driving a proper car. He is a British agent, him driving a BMW really. All 007 movie's have had some awsome cars, the old ones are full of old MB's. This new guy needs to be pretty cool to play James Bond, lets see how he does.

all Bonds
Sorry, but I measure all Bonds against Sean Connery. HE was the ultimate James Bond IMO. I guess anyone who didn't already know how old I am, does now.

I think that opinion is widely shared, regardless of age...Connery rocked.

Study the attached photo of Ian Fleming, and it is no wonder that Sean Connery was chosen... |

Connery . . .
Connery had that combination of good looks and deadly violence, barely leashed, that made his Bond the standard. Fleming's Bond was a rather tough customer, and was described several times as looking "ironical, brutal, and cold." When Connery leveled that gun, you could believe he was going to use it, and somebody, to paraphrase Major Boothroyd of Q Branch, was going to get killed.
Timothy Dalton also had this charm/deadliness mix. George Lazenby (though his movie was superb otherwise), Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan, are too lightweight; they project the charm, but not the deadliness. Here's hoping that Craig will have it too. ETA: He's got the "tough customer" look, and I'm all for a new, edgier Bond film that will capture some of the hard-boiled flavor of the Fleming novels. Oh, BTW, it was in John Gardner's "new" Bond novels of the '80s that he drove a Saab. In the Fleming books, his cars included two pre-war Bentleys, a 1950s Bentley Continental ("the most selfish car in England") that he salvaged and had supercharged, and the famous Aston Martin. .
