Hangem High

How many people out here think Saddam should be hung if convicted? Personally I say hangem, and to hell with his supporters. The end of civilization in Iraq? Unmitigated chaos? Bring it on and let's put an end this extremist BS once and for all.

WASHINGTON - Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, a member of Saddam Hussein's defense team, predicted on Thursday that a bloodbath would follow should an Iraqi court trying the former president have him executed.

At a news conference, Clark said he feared that should Saddam and the others be hanged, "catastrophic violence" would follow that would lead to "the end of civilization as we know it in the birthplace of civilization, Mesopotamia. Total, unmitigated chaos."

Saddam's Sunni Muslim tribe of 1.5 million would be enraged over what they would consider the revenge killing of the former president by the Shiite-controlled and U.S.-sponsored government, Clark said.

Screw the formalities. Take him to one of those villages where he tried to commit genocide and drop him off on Main Street, naked.

The questions to ask are, considering that none of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqis why in God's good name are we even in Iraq? And, secondly, who gives a good rat's ass what happens in Iraq if Sadam is found guilty?

We will never in a bazillion years bring democracy to Iraq. The US can not snatch such an ethically, and religiously backward country as Iraq from the 14th the 21st century in 5 or 10 years and expect them to all of a suddenly embrace the Western systems of government.

Iraq will be this generation's Viet Nam. We will no more win here than we did in Somalia. I lived in the Middle East for 10 years and it doesn't take an expert on international affairs to see that as usual the US doesn't have a bloody clue what the currents are in these countries that unite and divide the populous.

With Bush's poor performance these last few years, and the current Foley scandal I doubt (and hope) that the Reps. will win in 2008. The problem then is if the Demos. win they will be blamed for either not ending the war or cutting and running. Then they will be blamed for the huge gov. debt as was Clinton. Then in 8 years after the Dems. have paid down the debt, as did Clinton, the voters will be tired of high taxes and vote in the Reps. And the cycle goes on,

Spare me if you want to get into comparisons go Sierra Leone-Somalia

I am sure you don't know much about the Sierra Leone action because it didn't hit the big screen like Somalia.

So hang Saddam, let them all riot and kill each other, then it is a lot easier to bring on democracy.

How long does it take a person to die from hanging? Instantly if the neck is snapped and within 5 mins if not. No more than 10 mins for sure. Firing squad, instantly. Electric Chair? See above. All no good. Lock him up, throw away the key and weld the door shut. No riots, no bloodbath and no quick death for the man. That would be too good for him.

I agree with Tom.
Michigan Firearms Deer Season opens on Nov. 15. VP Dick Cheney could be Saddams Hunting Buddy, along with the 3 million others out for a Deer Kill.
Oops! He wasn't wearing Hunters Orange! Or a Bear could get him.
