Can someone recommend a good FM transmitter ?

Small, broadcast band FM transmitter for home use, legal power for use around my home.

I had a revelation the other day - I always wanted to wire my house for sound, and realized that almost every room in my house had a FM reciever in it =)

I once built an FM transmitter kit (I forget from where, I got it at Debco electronics here in Cincinnati) and it worked, and broadcast stereo (a plus) but I couldnt get to recieve anything from it, and when I took it to my national guard base which has some swanky RF test gear, I found that the frequency was wondering around more than 0..15Mhz in either direction - even with no modulation.

I didnt have the necessary EE skillz to work on the issue (A shielded box ? better soldering job in the PLL loop part of the circuit ?...???) so I have since lost the thing I built.

I'd LOVE another kit to build, if anyone can recommend one that has decent stability...

The point would be to connect this to a spare computer running an MP3 collection, then, if I wanted to listen to "my" music (or set it up for the wife, I have a small house) I'd just tune my radio to whatever freq. the thing is set on.

The ability to "tweak" the power output is desireable also. My house is 1200 sq ft, and I want to be able to reach everything, and since I have the aforementioned "swanky RF test gear" available to me, I can set it up for max legal output. I'm not trying to start a pirate radio station or anything, just want to get good reception in all parts of the house (incl basement) no matter where I put the xmtr.
