This guy should be our next president.
I couldn't agree more with everything he said:

No sensible person would disagree with him, how to achieve those goals is where the BS starts.

"We can achieve energy independence in 10 years, create a whole new industry with hundreds of thousands of high-paying jobs, and you'll never have to send children and grandchildren to war in the Middle East again"
...until they send more planes into American buildings killing thousands.

My company is working hard and spending lots of money on the coal to liquid end. Several projects in the works for here in the U.S.
We already make something like 1/3 of all the diesel used in South Africa...from coal.

We already get very little of our oil from the middle east. Problem is instablilty there drives the world markets nuts and we pay for this.
On the other hand China wants oil, let them have fun with that hornets nest for a bit.

Until they release biological weapons to kill........soybean plants, the idea is great but how to get there and how we protect our own country is what is at stake. They don't just want us out of the middle east, they want us dead.

I agree, but we gotta do it the smart way. Invading random countries with massive armies is not the way to do it. You mostly end up killing innocent people and your own soldiers, you spend tons of money, create massive debts, ruin the economy and end up with more terrorists than you started with. Sound familiar? Besides, you're probably 100,000 times more likely to die of a heart attack than become a victim of terrorism. Sometimes it helps to put things into perspective.

OIL FROM COAL IS NOT A RENEWABLE FUEL. when will people learn.... why not invest in bio-D from algae? and many other places. photovoltacs? wind power? methane?
