If the axle ratio of the coupe is higher than the wagon, it should get off the line quicker and run higher rpm at speed... or did you switch the two around.

That is an absolute looker of a car. Love W124's, love the M103.

ara, one of the confusing things about talking of axle ratios is that a higher NUMERICAL number equals a LOWER gear ratio.

so a 4.10 gear is a higher number than a 3.07 but a lower gear ratio.

this is and always has been a source of confusion when talking of rear end ratios.

one of the quirks of english i guess.

I had been searching for an SL, but after recently witnessing a fatal car accident (as it unfolded right in fornt of me) I decided to pass up on a convertible, at least for now.

I had previeously looked at this particular 300CE (see ad in the car for sale thread) and liked it. So today I brought her home.

More pictures to follow once she is cleaned up and ready to show.

Nice car! Love the color.

When are you thinking of doing the Euro lights? I may buy a new Benz this spring/summer and could part mine out, they're Bosch, made in Germany, excellent condition. You can PM me if interested. Although something tells me you won't want to wait that long...

The pillarless coupes are more likely to have wind noises "air leaks" than sedans and wagons.
When I purchased my 88 CE, I noticed "wind noise" coming from the drivers door. Checked it and noticed a small gap (less than an inch) in the top gasket, cut on evenly a diagonal line. This is also on the passenger door. I assume this was/is a stock feature. It's a little annoying, but just turn up the radio a bit and you can't hear it.
Any other models have this "gap"? I seriously doubt the previous owner made this mod. The AC system works fine/still original freon, never changed over and the car has never been smoked in. Doubt if it was a home made fix.
But it has always puzzled me why it's there?

Good luck with the coupe.

Actually, the red is to ward off the evil eyes.

I tell you, Senor Mojito is Jewish. Some of my best friends are Jewish and they have informed me that among Eastern European Jews it is customary to hang a red ribbon to ward off the "evil eye."

The red ribbon is featured prominetly in many of Isaac Beshiv Singer's stories.

Coming out party? Now I am confused.

This is what the insurance institute says your choice of car color reveals about your personality:

Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel.
Silver cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof.
Green cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies.
Yellow cars signify someone who is idealistic and novelty loving.
Blue cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver.
Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.
Red cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive and who think, move and talk quickly.
Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.
White cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers.
Cream cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and controlled owners.

Speaking of which, did you see the article on MSN recently about actuarial astrological sign in RE to one's likelihood of being in accidents? Several actuaries apparently were able to deduce a verifiable link between these two.

Yep thats what atracts me as well, small production numbers are a good thing. That way pulling up next to one at a light is kind of a big deal!

Mija, everyone needs a little protection...tu sabe!

http://www.indioproducts.com/webstore/index.php?cPath=14

I still have my azabache from when I was a wee bit bebito en La Habana. SOB from the militia tried to take it away when we left Cuba, but Ochun y Chango interceded. I was a consecrated boy. Sabes?

My wife and I were at Versailles (the Cuban restaurant, not the French palace) to have lunch there on Super Bowl Sunday.

We drove up in the red coupe and a guy at the restaurant wanted to buy it from me. He said that he had some mal de ojo to ward off. I told him to go get his own azabache!

It does get a lot of attention...especially in red. I must admit to be a bit of a show off!

Turns out that my sign is among the safest. We like to drive fast but we know what we are doing.

Not so sure I believe that there is a link though...

Enrique adjusted the door by loosening the hinges and then raising the door. He also moved the latch. The door works fine now and there is no more air "hiss."

I can't believe how much heavier this coupe feels than my 1998 E320.
