Unfortunately early Com-Pac's had some steel thrown in with the concrete, in my case it looks like scrap from some sort of stamping operation, the pieces got wet at some point, rusted, swelled, and not only broke-up the concrete, but must have frozen and split the outer hull on the port side of the keel. What a mess!

Oh yeah I have seen that! Spring for lead if you can next time around. A bucket of lead and some more concrete should work better.

My spring projects are to work on the SDL some more, redo my room. I'm going to do a bit of traveling as well. Should be fun.
