Spring Projects---What's Yours?

Spring is rapidly approaching any projects or ventures planned? I am going to look into getting my pilots license....

I have to finish polishing the clear coat on my 300SD.
I have one ( hope soon to have 2) Cub Cadet tractors to restore.
Replace a sliding glass door in my house
Help a friend finish restoring his '38 Ford pick up
Clean and restain my exterior deck
replace the garage door

( If I can't die until all my projects are completed, I'll live forever...)

1. Do something about the backyard!!! We held a haunted house back there one year, and didn't have to make a single mod to the entire yard when we made a mock graveyard with faux headstones!!! Looked THAT realistic!

2. Hold a HUGE garage sale! Decided the family is pack-rat-ing waaay too much stuff!

3. Finally do the media room. Have to get rid of my kid's stuff first (see #2, above)...

I'm assuming you mean private pilots license. If so, start here.

The interactive software and videos are awesome! Not bad for $300.

Do they have something a little less expensive for, say, flying the plane AFTER take-off and landing in a large building? Jus' checkin'

I’ll second that. A good deal at $300.00

You may want to check with your IP and flight center first. See what they recommend. After all - They'll be signing you off. (Not that you'll need that for your PPW exam. But they can drag out your training if you don't make them happy.)

Not to mention - a lot easier on the ears than John and Martha King.
(Martha has that “nails on a chalkboard” thing going.)

But, if you still want all these tapes. Just ask.

We’ll all be heading up to Arlington VA to rip Mistress’ T-shirt off and sign it just before we find a nice pond or water fountain to throw her in after her first solo flight. Anyone care to join us?

It’s a tradition even your dad went through, girl. Get ready for it.

Dig out 450LBs of damaged ballast from the keel of the Com-Pac, fix the fiberglass and pour 450LBs of new ballast into the keel from the top...sounds like a nightmare but I'll dig into it once the weather gets a little warmer.

Hey, Dave, how does ballast get damaged? I thought ballast was just dead weight, like a bunch of rocks or something.

Unfortunately early Com-Pac's had some steel thrown in with the concrete, in my case it looks like scrap from some sort of stamping operation, the pieces got wet at some point, rusted, swelled, and not only broke-up the concrete, but must have frozen and split the outer hull on the port side of the keel. What a mess!
