my favorite machinist came by with a 454 54 chebby today

he traded his 90% restored 49 jeepster for it.

it looks just awesome. black belair hardtop with hood and trunk shaved and the doors shaved. white roll and tuck naugahyde and a rumpity rumpity 454 with a hot cam and flowmasters. a built up turbo 400 tranny and (unfortunately) the original 1954 manual steering with about 3 to 4" of free play on center.

it made the idea of really jumping on the gas a whole lot less attractive. he will probably put modern steering and an od tranny in it, enjoy it for a year and move it on down the road so he can finish....

his 65 studebaker wagonaire which has an r2 avanti engine, four speed tranny and 331 posi. it also has an avanti speedometer, tach and traction bars and anti sway bars front and rear.

obviously he is totally nuts!

my best friend.

natch.

oh yeah, he let me drive.

it has seat belts and we both buckled up.
