Wrong again. I just rather get your panties in a twist than pull out my crayons and draw you a picture.

Well, if that is the best you can do for a retort, person of your calibre, I suppose I'll have to take it.

Exclamation *** Originally posted under "...Additional...Training..." ***

Let's cut some folks a little slack here (Even if they won't! )

Hey Austin85:

My guess is that you may have known (or have friends that do...) some of the vics at VT.

I, myself, just found out this morning that my Corp. Director had attended VT, met his wife there and they both were HEAVILY involved in post-grad and alumni activities.

It would be safe to say that he, and his wife (who's BTW, recovering from a stroke/heart attack and other assorted ailments...) are hurting in ways I can't even begin to imagine.

I can, possibly, understand your desire to strike out at us "gun-nuts" the way you are ... I'm willing to give it a ride.

If we can do anything constructive at all about this, call NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC and any other, local, obnoxious Alphabet-network's reporterette and/or bone-headed talking skull, and let them know that the shooter had his 15-minutes of shame. Quit giving him more.

I don't want to hear one more word about his sorry-@55ed life.

I don't want to see any more of his "edited" video-diatribe.

I don't want to hear anyone tell me why the stupid pin-head did what they "think" he did.

SHUT THE FREAK UP AND QUIT GIVING THE BA$TARD MORE AIR-TIME THAN HE WAS WORTH!!! HE THOUGHT HIS LIFE WAS WORTHLESS...QUIT GIVING HIS SORRY ASS MORE AIR-TIME!!! YOU'RE GIVING HIM THE BULLY-PULPIT HE NEVER DESERVED AND AIRING HIS WORTHLESS REASONING TO THE WORLD!!!

THE NETWORKS ARE RATINGS WHORES ("HOs") AND WE SHOULD TREAT THEIR COMPANIES THE SAME WAY THEY ARE TREATING THE VICTIMS AND VICTIM'S FAMILIES...

CALL THEIR ADVERTISERS AND TELL THEM TO SHUT THE MONEY-FAUCET OFF AND QUIT FUNDING B*LL$HIT "NEWS" PROGRAMS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH NEWS!!!

I work in this business and I'm shutting off the damn TV.

Austin85, I'm never going to know, exactly, why you have such a distaste for weapons. It's not my place to pry. But, for those of us that have been grounded in the discipline of responsibility and have taken the time to know and use these items in a proper and safe manner, we do feel equally offended that others feel that they should be able to subjugate those of us who follow the rules, or put (or classify) us into the same catagory with those worthless ba$tards that make the news on a daily basis.

I feel offended every time I see a video that shows some idiot brandishing a weapon (white kids acting all "in your face" on clips, before they head out and shoot out street-lights or Stop signs, black kids doing the "...out of my face, MOFO..." and swinging a hand-gun sideways at the camera, or you name any one of countles videos that's been on MTV/VH1/MTVII/Local-National news during the past 15 years or so.)

Did anyone stop those idiots?

ONLY after something went bad.

Why? The ACLU (and related idiots) don't want you "violating" someone's rights to be an idiot with a weapon. You have to have a "body-count" before anything gets done.

What's the current tally at VT?
What WAS the tally at Columbine?
What WAS the tally at Brown's Chicken in suburban Chicago?
Pick an incident, what WAS the tally?

And what WAS the final solution/fix?

Yet, when you find someone (they did) with "a few bricks loose on the top of the wall" and you say something, then you're the one "...with your nose out of line...toss him some Prozac, set him back down and let him watch the grass grow. Keep an eye on that "whistleblower" - he's the one with an agenda."

Well, 'til next time...

Same style of body counts, same ol' excuses not to take action before hand.

And removing guns will NEVER BE the fix. It starts LONG BEFORE any weapon, of choice, is ever selected.

In this case, the only thing that DIDN'T happen was someone didn't sleep next to the idiot before he headed out the door and started his rampage.

I want to end this by saying just this...VT will need more time than any of us can begin to imagine, to recover (if that is even possible...) from this tragedy. IMHO, I don't believe it will ever happen.

Now, send me downstairs to do the cat-box or any of my nieces'/nephews'/grandsons' shorts, and I'm doubled-over, clawing for any air, just so it isn't the rear-end air of a freshly-pasted bottom...

G A C K !

Geez, my gut hurts just typing this...must be the "freshly-pasted rear-end-air dry-heaves" I'm feeling...

I need some really fresh air.....

Every April the non students are the ones hoping for summer vacation, pretty sad if you ask me. A big event like this brings out every whack job in the country, the media made this whack job a hero and someone else is going to be looking for their 15 minutes.

On all this gun control BS, I am a college student (as some may know) living in a real scum bag apartment. And I love guns. Especially older bolt action rifles. Anyways, I have a personal story like Aklim's.

I was the designated "sober guy" at our apartment for the evening. We had a party some good beers, some good tunes. Lets just say our apartment has a lot of shady characters coming in and out. We had a few girls over, some friends etc. A friend walked outside to have a cigarette, bumped into one of these ghetto wannabe "thugs". He apologizes, continues on. He is pushed against a wall outside, and this drunkard pulls a knife on him.

I grabbed my rather archaic looking Mosin Nagant, with the stupid looking but meanacing permamently attached bayonet clipped up. This drunkard, despite being in a complete stupor, apparently understood that the round this rifle shot was about 5 times the size of the rounds shot by the "nines" talked about in rap videos. He backed down, and went on his way.

Without this, my friend may have been hurt, maybe killed who knows. How else is a 155 pound skinny white kid like myself going to face down goons who pull this sort of crap?

Anyway, from then on I respected the "stand down" power even a 75 dollar Polish Mosin Nagant M44 has. Thank god I didn't have to use it, as my shoulder would've been very sore, and the exit wound would've been about the size of the state of Texas on one of those classroom maps. And I would never like to see anyone hurt. But friends or family...you cannot think twice about it when those you care about are in danger.

That is why I will always own a gun, even if it is archaic and cheap. They look more intimidating that way. And in my case, its almost guaranteed the 7.62x54R will not require a follow up shot.

Smile Gun control

In respect and honor for those that died at Va Tech, I have given away (to the authorities)4 of my 8 guns. I feel safer already as many others should. This is a 50% reduction of my guns and a first step in saving lives. Pretty good huh. Regarding my other guns, I doubt I'll use them in any illegal way, just enjoy them hunting or target shooting.

Yep, they are nice to have if God forbid you ever need it.

I'm in almost the same situation as you. Not too many serious low lifes in my place though fortunately. But I also have a collection of old bolt actions. 17 in my case. Mostly Mausers and a few Mosins, including a very nice Russian 1944 M44 with the folding bayonet.

Good call on your part there. They sure do look intimidating.

Smile Guns and other things.

Have always had concern and passion regarding poor and homeless people. Am thus thinking about turning 50% of my money over to the "authorities" to help reduce the number of poorer folks, like the ones who can only afford a C class auto. I feel better already.
