How do you not insult and keep a religious friend?
One of my friends is always trying to send me little emails about how I have to follow the 10 commandments and how I have to learn the real "truth" not my version or opinion of such.
I always reply with my opionions which if you follow the "truth" are no subject to scrutiny, so I am always contrary. I always kept my opinions to myself as it was never my intent to cause her any doubt in her beliefs. Live and let live I always say. However, she has lately picked it up a notch telling me I am arrogant and stubborn for not listening to her way of thinking or even having the nerve to challenge her beliefs, that her way is the only way. How do you deal with a person like that, without insulting them or losing the friendship? For the record, she is my wife's best friend not mine, but we are close. I tell her that her job as a follower is to grow the flock, my job as a friend is to let her be, not to dissuade her. She constantly tells me and my wife that she is "worried" about us and our salvation. I think she's a crackpot! ????????????????????? ![]()

Easy.
She's your wife's best friend. Ask your wife to ask her personally to stop with the emails. That's how I'd handle it given that information. If that doesn't work, create a rule in your email that sends those emails to the trash, be it based on keywords (sin, commandments, thou shalt, etc.), or even anything from the sender herself if it gets to that point.

You could always tell her that you respect her right to believe as she wishes and you hope that she will respect your right to the same. Be honest with her that her proselytizing is making you uncomfortable and as you fear that it could impact your relationship you would rather not discuss religious issues with her.
You could also remind her that JC told us not to judge others, that judgement was his job not ours. But that will probably open up a whole can of worms that you don't want.

Easy, remind her of the commandment that says something about not judging others. That should shut her up. If not, she's the one that needs to re-read her emails on the 10 Commandments.

Utilize the filters on your email client, I have a cousin that sends at least 10 as old as the internet amber alerts, pass it on for a hug and other BS emails I don't have to bother hitting the delete button every morning.

Why concern yourself with issues of simple respect and civility that she ignores? Tell her that you are as entitled to your beliefs and opinions as she is to hers, and that if she finds herself unable to show you the same respect that you show her, she is more than welcome to find some new friends.

Have sex with her, then she'll be a hypocrit and won't be able to preach anymore.

Bot -- Tell your wife that her best friend is hitting on you and it's getting embarrassing.

Tell her you're a big boy now, and can make your own life decisions, thank you very much. If she doesn't stop, let her know that your relationship might get 'ugly', without being too specific. Deal with it head-on, otherwise she will only question why you haven't answered any of her emails, and still not get the point.

That's where the Bot Ploy comes in by complaining to the wife before sex with wife's best friend. Plant gets to tell wife, "I tried! I tol' you sumpin' was happening with Tammy Faye and you didn't do nuthin'."

Ron is that K. Richards in your avitar? I heard a commentator recently speaking about him the other day regarding the concussion he sustained some time back from falling out of a coconut tree (the forum was the top 100 wealthiest entertainers, btw). The neurosurgeon that did his work-up was suprised to find a scant trace of real human blood in his heroin stream
