What I meant was, sugar is sugar. You eat more than coupla hundred calories all at once and most of it turns to fat and your blood sugar will spike anyways. Chewing on a piece of sugarcane ensures that you don't get too much plus you get a workout while doing it. More delicious than celery.

So are you saying that sugar from HFCS is just as healthy as sugar from cane juice?

Yeah, healthy is an alternative way to look at it.

funny how so many are afriad of hunger
it makes you sharper and more alert
just as a full meal makes you slower and lazy
you soon learn to work thru the very very minor ache
that hunger brings to your stomic
hunger is a normal human state that few in the USA
ever feel or for very long
but like anything else you soon get use to it and can use it
there is no need for fake [diet] foods or all the other BS
just skip the lunch and BE HUNGRY it's cheap [free] and it works!!!!!
Smart advice

be hungry

get used to it

too many people in USA are used to stuffing their faces with meals 3X the size of what they need....

When your blood sugar goes above about 160 your system dumps sugar through your kidneys to your bladder and it ends up in your urine. Sugar in urine is also a symptom of Diabetes. HFCS does this to you without being diabetic and that should be enough to tell you it is not good for you. Avoid HFCS anyway that you can.

Hydrogenated fats and refined grains have no legitimate place in anyone's diet either.

Overeating is a real problem. If you eat three meals a day, each one about the size of your fist, you will get enough food. We buy too much at the store, cook too much and put too much on our plates. Restaurants also put too much on our plates. It is fun to eat, we over do it.

There was a Tibetan guy I knew in Madison and he'd say after eating a meal, your stomach should contain one-third food, one -third water and one-third air. Obviously meaning we shouldn't eat until we're full and don't eat those huge portions as Twitchy Kitty pointed out.

Eating more slowly and having a nice conversation at dinner time makes the food more enjoyable, you feel full, sooner, and tend not to eat as much. Americans tend to wolf down their food as fast as possible. We also seem to have a bigger weight problem than other cultures. . . hmm, wonder if there's any correlation there?

We're frickin' pigs. Just go to the mall, oink oink. Me included, -- I could stand to lose 20, working on it though.
