Really stuck axles, plz help

Allright, I've been trying to get my axles out of my transmission for the past week. I've broken a cold chisel. I'm prying between the end, and the differencial housing. I'm chipping the diff housing (OK, im putting in a new trans for it)

This is on my '95 escort....

The broken off chunk of chisel is forcing the CV out of the trans about a quarter inch. Prying on it with a crowbar doesnt do anything (neither does wailing on said crowbar with 3lb drilling hammer)

I'm at a freeking loss. I've got the other end out of the bearing carrior, but the bastage wont budge. No progress on the drivers side, havent touched it...

How am I supposed to get at that one? I'm going to drop the cross member and see what that gives me... There a better way, or no?

Tks alot

~Nate
