After seeing the numerous tragedies that have happened at quite a few schools in the last few to 10 years, I am not surprised. The whole country is on alert for stuff like that. If the school wasn't harsh, someone else might take it further the next time.

Just a thought.

I hope they don't have to actually serve any time or have their records blemished. It has probably been a very intense time for the misguided pranksters.

I understand it. It just really saddens me to see that our society has come to this.

Kids can't seem to just be kids with all of their foolish pranks and jokes anymore. I don't know what the answer is, but I'm pretty sure it's not something that would make a snappy political sound bite or campaign promise.
