My Honda Insight tops out at 108mph. You have to remember that these cars have impressive aerodynamics.

Prius has some speed especially when it gets going. 100mph is not much of a bench mark these days. About 99% cars out there can do it including new hybrids, diesels and Corollas. Heck even a Kia Rio with its 109hp engine does 100mph without much fanfare except a lot of buzzing

I could get my old 73 VW bug to do 100 mph...actually it took a few miles to wind up to 95 mph, then a nice long sloped roadway, to eke the last 5 mph out of it!
