My wife and I drove to DC and watched the national fireworks from the VA side of the Potomac river.

I've got to say that I was blown away with this year's fireworks! There must be new technology or something. This year we enjoyed seeing hearts with arrows through them, balls with rings around them (like Saturn and its rings), and fireworks that would explode and seem to disappear, only to reappear when each little end would re-explode into its own minuture display.

What a show!! We were across the Kennedy Center looking at at the fireworks shoot up into the sky with the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument as a perfect backdrop. They also created a great reflection in the river with many boats and kayaks floating around.
