Laying around, doing little to nothing today. Without much choice.
Went for a private barrel racing lesson yesterday. After the lesson went on a short trail ride up a creek bed, crisscrossed with a nice flowing stream. Got back and was making my way across the arena at a walk. Went to swing my right leg over my horses neck to sit comfortably side saddle. Hooked my spur into his mane about 5” forward of the saddle horn. Rowdy (my horse) took a quick jump to the left. I had just enough time to think to myself: “This ain’t gonna be good.” before I hit the ground hitting just above my left butt cheek. Knocked the wind out of me for a bit. Jarred every bone in my body. Bruised my pelvis. Takes some time to even stand up now. Can’t walk straight at all. Rolling on the BioFreeze. I’m getting too old for this ----. - Shelby |
Ehh, today turned out OK. Made an old lady happy by fixing her computer. Dropped by my friends house to check out his new ride, stopped by my indy to say hello and ask a few questions, and topped it all of off, had a good chat with an "old" friend, Jim B. (although, he is a teenager at heart.... :) )

That sounds good. :D Maybe I'll go play with a couple of those before it gets too hot to even venture outside the house/hangar. Crazy, when I fly arond here on a daily basis, I see just how fast everything is turning brown. Sad. (Not to mention the air down around the metroplex.) E150GT - I was talking with Johns folks (they live in the SA area) the other day. Sounds like you guys have a bit of a nasty dry spell going on. And hot. Sorry to hear that. Hold out inside and keep the sprinklers set for 0300 !! - Shelby |

If not for the kids, and my wife having to deal with the kids solo, I'd schedule an extra day to do fun stuff. |

My yard is toast!
The color of TOAST!!! Practically! Dang near impossible to cool the upstairs portion of the house too!
Nevertheless, I'm glad I got my W124 back from the body shop and on the road (front-end damage from an accident last month). After watching the televised MJ memorial yesterday, I threw some MJ CDs in the car for some nostalgic listening on the way to work. |

Bad day so far.
My altenator is on its way out, and last night, it finally went.... Go to move my car this AM so that I can take the G out, and it didnt feel right... The drivers rear tire was flat. Pulled it off the car, the inside is down to steel belts, and the outside looks like its still got alot of life left.... Today, work for 4 hours, go to the recycler and get a bigger alternator, then to the tire shop for a new tire... Cannot wait to pull the other side off and see how bad it is... :( |

:D Right now I'm happy to report that here, we are still green, but that's only because of a zillion miles of Schedule 40 PVC pipe. We did get a storm that made for some mud along the runway we recently seeded. Not a good place to run the tires off for sure. But outside of here. If it isn't covered by a sprinkler system. It's getting brown (or "toast"), and quick. - Shelby |
Wow, it's Wednesday again already. I hope you all have a great Hump Day.

Happy hump day to all...Only 3 more days 'til the weekend!
