It wouldn't happen in the first place if people were not stupid enough to fall for them.

Are there really people stupid enough to fall for this OBVIOUS scam? Come on, they ask for your USER NAME AND PASSWORD. Would you really give access of your account to somebody that cant even type a correct english sentence?

The way it's been described in the media, it always starts with unwanted junk mail found in someones trash.

One needs to be careful there, use a shredder on anything with personal info.

ID theft is a popular item nowadays, for creditors to make extra monetos per every hundred spent on your credit accounts.

Another aspect of profitable fear mongering.

Greed, the need for instant money, all that combine to give rise to these scammers, surprisingly, he was able to elude the authorities for a long time.

Did anybody notice who made the arrest?

State Department of Agriculture agents stopped Soetan and found documents with people's personal identifying information, multiple cell phones and $6,000 in cash.

Way to go Dept of Agriculture!

Maybe we should use these guys to patrol the border!

Or replace the FBI with the DoA!

The last time I crossed the US border with Mex my buddies & I had about 600 botanical specimens. The DoAg specialist looked at almost each individual herbarium specimen. Were packed in 5% formalin and we had detailed collection records. [no way any narcotic would be palatable after that!]. Even so, it took us 6 - 7 hrs to clear customs. We brought 8-10 botanical specimens new to science into publication. For a 22 year-old it was worth it. For a 55 year-old (me), it was a waste of time.

Science thanks you for this effort. So what kind of herbs new to science did you bring back?
