just spent 2 hours detailing my 300D... I used all new car wash stuff from Meguiars. Car shampoo, sheep skin wash mitt, interior protectent and rubber reviver, mothers on the chrome and aluminum, meguiars wet look for the wheels..

I even used the stuff for the rubber on everything I could reach on the engine after I covered it in degreaser.. Plus it works great on the rubber strips and guards on the bumpers..

I really need to get her repainted so she can truly shine.

only thing I have to say is

It better not frign rain between now and the car show sunday...

I just spent the last day driving from NC... My car is filthy... The water situation has been sorta dry up there, so I haven't washed my car in months.

I am so happy to finally be here. I had to pay 80 bucks for a replacement passenger side seat belt from a salvage yard. I ordered one on line but it took too long to get to the house I guess I will be selling one of them on ebay. Probably the blue one that I bought.. since my interior is creme.

Eager to see you all and hang out!

I'm wondering what kind of heresy it would be, if I showed up in a VW TDI instead.
The E420 is gulping gas, the 300D is in the middle of a windshield transplant (had a cold this week so no work was done), the 280SE needs its fuel tanked cleaned out. If fz500SEL is going too, we could take his car...but he might be working Sunday.
I realize it's not a Benz...but...it is a Diesel
What say ye?

Don, what time are you leaving? I'll roll out with you if that's cool. Figured I'd get there at noon or so...but don't have a particular schedule to meet...guess I should start washing the car though eh?

My wife and 2 sons are going to accompany me, with the 508D and another very tiny Mercedes

Coming from Orlando, is it better go wind through the countryside on Rt 50 then south, or down I4 and then head north?

I imagine it's all personal preference.. For the quickest route (hour and 31 minutes) my streets and trips software told me take I-4 to 557, to dean sill rd to Rockridge, to 98... but those roads don't look very big and that's a pretty busy route....
it also says if you take HWY 50, it's an hour and 32 minutes...

So do you like driving on the interstate or do you like the highways?

If you really like the interstate I would follow it all the way to HWY 39 in Plant City. I think it's leaves you with about 28 minutes of highway at the end of the trip.
