The motor in that is an all aluminum v6....pretty light, with the engine slung out behind the diff like a corvailr or porsche 911. Putting a big iron engine in there is asking for trouble, imho.

It is gonna wanna push at the limit anyway.

The Northstar is approximately 80 lbs. heavier than the PRV. Could be enough to give a problem.

I would go for that aluminum corvette motor before the caddy, I think.

I have a friend who has a caddy with that motor and it is using oil big time. It is the third caddy he has had with that motor and all have done this around 40 or 50K miles.

I am not sure why he keeps buying them.

The Northstar motor was based on the Corvette ZR-1 motor, except it was built by GM not Mercury Marine. I had one, and it used a quart every thousand miles. This, on a car I bought with 25k miles, and it had the oil changed at the dealer every 3k.

GM engines have been an issues for some time now. Especially the Northstar V-8's. They like to oval the cylinder walls, hence the piston slap. Dealerships deny and deny. My mom's equinox with 60k on it hasn't shown signs of piston slap but has the dreaded Dexcool aka Death cool, coolant in it.

back on topic..

so.. what is stainless steel and has gullwing doors... a delorean. That is what

They have a little mirror right next to the coffee cup holder.
