Give me some advice on this job offer. V. Already have a job

Okay. So I go to Ranken Tech in STL. MY instructor asked me if I wanted a job there doing maintenance. It pays $9 an hour. Meanwhile I get paid $7.50 an hour at McDonalds (min wage even though Ive worked there for 14 months now)
The teacher said he still has to ask the other department instructors to see if theres any more left in the budget for any more labor. I know of only about 8 hours a week total that would fit into my schedule for sure. I could work at night too but theres not night class til October some time (so no teachers there at night right now), so it might not be worth my time to work there just yet.
I figure if I work 20 hours a week there it would make up for the fact that Id have to start driving there (since I take the bus and Ranekn is in N STL and Ill probably get jumped waiting next to the street)

If I can get 25 hours, even better, but I dont think that kinda time is alotted in their budget. I think 20-25 is more realistic from October til January though.

I also might be able to still work at McD"s on the weekdays if I cant get all the hours I want or possibly work on the weekends there even if I do get 20-25 hours.

I think working for Ranken will give me some "job experience" possibly

Just wondering what you guys think

Anytime you have a chance to impress your instructoors, do it. They will be more likely to assist you in finding a 'real' job later on and write you better recommendations. The McD's or similar job will be waiting if the school job doesn't work out.

Good luck.

I would go for the maintanance position. You won't get near as many useful skills working @ McD's.
