When I lived near NOLA I had season tickets to the symphony and to the chamber music series at Tulane. Once or twice a month friends would get together and have dinner at Galatois before either the symphony or the chamber music. I guess we did that for 5-6 years and it was delightful. I haven't been back since 1992.
