It is rusty but very quick.

.....and only driven on short trips by a grandfather on saturdays and sundays!

Just put your foot to the floor and don't lift until the car is sideways.

You better beat that Toyota! MB pride is on the line!

good luck, i already get sea sick from the body roll on normal roads in my dads w123. Cant imagine in auto-x.....

Will be fun tho, i did a little auto-xing at a big parking lot in my W124 but my tires suck and i get some understeer from them. The goodyears on the 92 190E grip better so i dont understeer but doesnt handle as well as my W124 with the AMG suspension

You would be surprised, that looks like the acceleration I got from mine. He wasn't pushing the car as hard as it could go. There are photos floating around somewhere with my driver rear tire off the ground.

I have several autocrosses under my belt with the 300. Its slow and handles like a toad. Don't have false hopes, it's un-competitive. That said, there is no question, it is fun and thats what counts.

The key is to keep the gear lever in L. You will never exceed 2nd gear speed in an autocross, but you will keep it in the turbo range. I got plenty of wheel spin, power is not the problem. My first set of tires lasted about 10,000 miles.

I was going to put it in S

I have removed the ALDA for maximum fuel off the line, boost is running at 12 psi, fresh alignment, new wheel bearings, new brake pads, new 15" wheels coming soon, and carbon fiber stickers on the dash to add "mad horsepower,yo"

I've got a container of Mobile Synthetic diff fluid.. You guys think I should put it in before the Auto-X? It should add like 5hp? jk but seriously.. should I?

I took a wiff of the stuff (by wafting.. safety first) and yea.. its true.. diff fluid smells horrible

Naaaah, don't bother putting that in the diff.

rub it on your rear tires so you can spin them!

I was involved with the SCCA in Ohio starting about 25 years ago and though I was mostly doing the pro rally thing, I did some autocrossing. Mostly with vehicles that weren't designed for it! I started with a '71 Maverick then a '80 Fiesta. Later, here in NC I ran my '94 Ford Ranger pickup. The Ranger was set up for rallying so it stunk in the autocross especially due to it's open rear end.

If your car has an open rear end and you're running a tight, parking lot course with lots of hard corners, you might consider unhooking your rear anti-sway bar. This will help keep a drive wheel planted on the corners so you can keep moving forward. The Ranger would nearly come to a stop on the corners because the rear was so stiff it always lifted the inside rear.

Another easy trick I learned was to chalk the tires. Take some blackboard chalk and rub it on the sidewall in a few places where it meets the tread. The idea is to see how far the tire rolls over in the corners by how much chalk is rubbed off. You can air up the tires if they are rolling over too far. Only drawback is that you need an air tank or portable compressor.
