Another reason why we recommend everyone get their own airplane and/or helicopter and learn to fly it.
So far – It seems Mistress is the only one here figuring this out.

Actually....
I think most of the problems stem from the airline pilot’s military training.

It's the fault of agricultural crop dusters and the farmer cabal.

Flying is still the safest way to travel. Interestingly, I read somewhere that walking is the most dangerous. It seems getting hit by cars is the major problem with that mode of transportation.

I can always tell when a Navy pilot lands the airplane. It slams down onto the runway right between the first and second markings and the thrust reversers come on with a vengeance. No just-above-stall-speed floating landings for these jocks.

One of my profs in college had been a Naval Aviator, flying some sort of ASW aircraft. he said the difference between pilots like him and a fighter pilot was that he got into the airplane and flew it. Fighter jocks strap it on.

This is what I thought when I read it too. Nickname for autopilot is autosleep.

Actually - That would be me after the morning cofay, on a ride with the wife in the 300L.

Me too! I just need more money, flying is expensive. I already have a few hours logged in a Cessna 180 and 182. I have completed the Cessna pilot center training course. My dad who has owned an airplane rental company, ex pilot and ex exhibition skydiver has a good friend right down the road from me that rebuilds Cessna's and other aircraft from hurricanes and what not in his hanger. He said he will let me use his planes if I can hire an instructor and pay for gas! Good deal but gas and an instructor is still mucho $. As soon as I get my private pilots licence I'm going to buy a 150 or 180 for $10K-$15K, rebuild and have it certified by my dads friend. Gotta get a hanger too. More $ Hopefully sooner than later, I love flying. My first experience was at 8. Yes, I mean actually flying the plane.
