Have I Defiled my Car?

Normally I don't put bumper stickers on my vehicles. I think they detract from the appearance and dignity of the vehicle and make it look cheap. However, I've become a supporter of a presidential candidate who I think needs more publicity. (Ron Paul) I felt strongly enough about this that at a meeting of fellow supporters, they were handing out bumper stickers and I took one.

I was going to put it on the back bumper of my 300D, since the rubber trim piece that goes across the bumper is missing and there's plenty of room there. On closer inspection I realized that the contour of the bumper would require a pretty tight radius bend in the sticker and I didn't think it would adhere well when applied in 30 degree weather, which is what we had this afternoon. So I put it on the back window of my 240D, over an old Harrah's sticker and next to the University of Okoboji logo from some previous owner.

Opinions?

Thumbs up

Hello Skippy

The view from here (I'm just over the hill from you in Nevada County Calif) is that you made a good choice on where to put it - the window is more at eye level - so you'll get more viewers, - (though I'd be inclined to tape it to the inside of the window for easier removal after the election) -

And I like the idea of Dr Paul's candidacy a LOT: frankly, the media and the Republican party are both doing all they can to kill it, which ALONE makes it a good reason to vote for him. (Though on some of his individual policy stances, I hugely disagree with him, and that if he actually WON this thing, I'd worry about his lifespan being shorter than Benazir Bhutto after she got back from Pakistan)...

The window is the place for stickers....much easier to remove there.

And yeah, I think all Republicans should vote for Dr. Paul.

I'm not showing my hand in the election yet, but I saw a brand new, new body style CL550 today with a HUGE Obama sticker dead center on the rear bumper cover. As a body shop guy, bumper stickers make me cringe. Try telling a guy that getting rid of that $2 sticker will cost $750 once we repaint the cover, so he can turn it in at the end of the lease.

It's a car, not a monument. Paint it pink with green poky-dots for all it matters!
