Super Mannings

So the Super Bowl was a very hard fought defensive battle most of the night. I was rooting for the Giants but not counting on them to win. (I wish I had put money where my heart was).

Eli to PLaxico when the chips were down.

The Mannings have made history in so many ways all in one night. First Father son combo in the hall of fame, first brother combo in the hall of fame, and first brothers to win super bowls back to back. And a classier group of guys not to be found.

I just love upsets.

Favorite commercial?

"The wheel sucks!"

That was a really good game. I thought the Patriots had it at 1:30 to go but then they lost the perfect season.

Oh well, neither team is my favorite but it was fun watching. Congrats Giants!

That's quite a family legacy for the Mannings. I'm glad tha folks who paid $4K for a seat at least had an exciting game to watch.

$500K fine for the coach in "SpyGate"...

$200K fine for the owner of the team...

A first-round draft pick, lost...

Tom Brady, knocked silly, on his @55, all night long...

The PERFECT* season...NOT!

PRICELESS!!!!!

For everything else...there's Mannings' Card!

I was at a party for Pats fans. I'm not one, but was polite. They were inconsolable.

I didn't like how Eli manipulated the draft so as not to play for the Chargers. I didn't like Plaxico Burress' attitude when he was on the Steelers (my team).

But after watching the final Giants drive with Eli's insane escape and the crazy circus catch by Tyree... they deserved it. The Giants defense was fierce all night, and the Pats O-line looked weak and overmatched.

It was a very entertaining game, all the way around.

I am interested to see what comes of the latest Pats videotaping allegations. I'm sure this time there won't be any tape shredding by the commish. Arlen Specter is involved now, and he's not going to take any crap.

That escape and subsequent game saving pass were something, eh? I like Brady, and I figure even Randy Moss deserves a bit of glory but could be the spygate thing brought up a dose of bad karma.

Didn't seem to be a standout game for New England.

The Cinderella story with the Giants is a good enough reason to be happy with them winning. I'm getting burned out on the Mannings Bros.' TV ads though. Peyton guest hosted Sat. Nite Live a while back and was not too likeable for this cowboy.

Belichick sore loser?

Yeah, I thought he was a poor loser....Bellicheck.

But on the other hand, they could have just let the clock run out too.

Belichek showed himself to be quite the jerk!

A poor season for commercials. Most of them were entirely forgetable.
The Hyundai Genesis ads looked professional and mature by comparison. I am looking forward to seeing the car itself.
No, Hyundai is not a Mercedes.
But if they can deliver a large, powerful, reliable car at the prices they claim, it should sell.

Hijacking in progress, but MS started it!

My soon-to-be son-in-law is the service mgr at a local Hyundai dealer. He had been with a Toyota dealership when the owner opened the Hyundai dealership and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Horse head, the works.

M'boy hates the Hyundai. Says even though the quality has improved dramatically over the 5 years he's been there he still doesn't like telling people where he works. He was proud to work at the Toyota dealership and still drives their large pick-up.

To continue the hi-jack...
Since I own a Hyundai ( or more precisely My Wife has the Hyundai), I participate in a Hyundai Forum.
It is interesting to read what issues people seem to have with their Hyundais. The biggiest issues ( most discussion) have been Noisy suspension and sloshing fuel tank.
Very little on engine, trans, etc. You can tell that Hyundais appeal to many of the boy-racer types by the discussions on modifications.
Overall, I'd have to rate the reliability as very good. What a marketing concept--offer the consumer good quality with very high "content", at a price well below the rest of the market. That formula speaks of sucess. Also, every time they re-engineer any platform, the new car is vastly superior to what it replaced. They are making huge leaps in their product.
BUT...
There has been some disturbing discussion about a noisy start-up on the large V6 in the Entourage. They use a top-side oil filter ( like MB) and some vehicles have some noise at start-up. It may be a faulty anti-drain back valve. The disturbing thing is that apparently Hyundai Corp Offices have decided that this is "normal, and Acceptable". and their field people are stone-walling. One owners told the factory service rep that it was not "normal" and asked that any or all other similar vehicles on the dealer's lots be started up to see if they all did it. The factory servcie rep declined.
If they hope to move up-market, they must absolutely stop this sort of action, and make satisfying the customer the highest priority. They also need to weed out some dealers who are the true scum of the earth bottom feeeders.
The auto business is competitive!

To return to the original thread topic...( after a fashion)
Hyundais are a lot like Ely Manning--under appreciated, but gets the job done.

I'm finding it a bit sad, that most of the press today is all about the Pats loss, and not the Giants win.

Yeah, what a guy. Left his girlfriend of seven years when she was seven months pregnant for a supermodel. Great role model.

Oops. Lots of oops going around
ESPN was the worst, I can only imagine how many stories were scraped from being published after the game last night. Its very sad to read whining bitter sports writers.

Well done Giants.
