Longest Wait in Line

What's the longest you've ever waited in line for anything? I was talking to a man who went to hear Obama in Virginia on the weekend. He said he waited in line for 3 hours. He told me a 40 year old lady in front of him fainted. Several other people also fainted and personnel brought them water.

Longest I've ever waited in line was 1.5 hours for a ride at Six Flags, must have been 95* but no one fainted.

Pepe's Pizza on Wooster St. in New Haven is reknowned for their brick oven thin crust pizza. My in-laws used to go there every couple of weeks and we'd usually go with them once a month. Waiting in line for an hour or more is not uncommon, the longest I've waited was an hour. They don't take names or reservations. I don't do well waiting in lines so I generally avoid them.

Jimmie's Seafood at Savin Rock in New Haven is close but at least there you can leave your name and go walk the boardwalk.

Life's too short to wait in lines. Most of the big chain restaurants around here have LONG lines every friday and saturday night, so we never go there. The up side is we also have some locally owned, very good restaurants where there is hardly ever a wait. A no brainer to me.

I remember in the '70's waiting for half a day in line for gas with my parents.

There were even guys pulling wagons behind their bikes selling food and drinks to people in line.

~2.5 hours. Standing (solo) with luggage.

Budget Rent-a-Car counter at Miami International Airport.
The busiest day for travelers to MIA, and only 2 “rookie kids” working the counter.

I took the van over from the FBO when I should have paid for them to have a rental car waiting there.
(Another one for the “Stupid things people do…” thread I guess.)

30 minutes and I can't remember what for. 30 minutes is my limit.

last night

Last night, I waited 3 hours to get home from DC to Occoquan. That's 10 mph average to you and me. I think 10 mph is about where my Ford idles. Used the long pedal on the right very little last night. By the end, people were so whipped, that nobody was even changing lanes. I was with my wife and daughter so I considered it family time.

I waited 90 minutes once at LAX. And, it could have been three hours because they had no cars. I finally went upstairs to the "elite" line and paid another $10.00 per day for a Lexus GS300. I wasn't arguing the principle after 90 minutes and no options.

After 10 minutes, I usually abandon the line.........unless there are no good options.

I remember that, and I also remember how people were stealing gas using a Kentucky credit card all over.

I have a general policy that I don't wait in lines; unless I have no choice. I register my cars online, so no rubbing elbows at the DMV.
But the Doctor's office...who can control that waiting time? I try to get in early in the morning before other cases stack up.

But I will wait 15 minutes for a table if I really want to eat at a good restaurant and i have family with me. It would take 15 minutes to drive to another restaurant; so I'll wait instead of waste gas.

Life is too short to wait on (in) line to see a politician not named Churchill, DeGaulle, Roosevelt, Lincoln, Washington, or Jefferson!!!

Army in-processing I don't recall exactly how long but I was wishing my last name began with A, they did not get to me that day so I had to go back the following day.

My buddy Zachahrapoulas was bummed in a big way.
