I'm officially an Army Recruit
Well, I've been casually thinking about the Army for the past few years. Seemed like something I wanted to do, and that I could do. Only recently have I been more seriously thinking about it. Talked to many people about it, most think it'd be a good thing for me. So today I made the big step, and I'm officially an Army recruit. On Saturday I'm taking an aptitude test in the cities. My plans and requirements are as follows... I'll be in basic training for 9 weeks out of the summer, and then, provided I make it through, I'm committed to one weekend per month for the rest of the year doing drills. I'll be a reservist. Then after I graduate (which is REQUIRED), I'll still be on reserve for another 5 years (6 years total)... Unless I sign up for active duty, which I plan on doing... Then it's for 2 or more years of (most likely) being a combat engineer. Building roads, houses, hospitals, and infrastructure, and knowing how to take down condemned buildings/infrastructure... Clearing minefields with explosives, setting off IED's (safely from an armored vehicle)
So yeah, I'm officially an Army Recruit.
