Anyone ever find a pearl while eating oysters?

We had an oyster lunch today @ Anthony's which is between Seattle and Tacoma and I nearly chomped down on a pearl, its BB size but I guess its pretty rare.

Yeh, we get them sometimes from Gulf oysters. If you ask at an oyster house they usually have a cigar box of them stashed somewhere. They're not much to look at -- usually a lustrous grey and odd-shaped. Look like a dollop of a molten plastic toy.

They said "never" and were somewhat impressed, the manager asked in a round about way about the possibility of a broken tooth, I told him I'm good to go and he responded with a huge ****** bloody mary, which washed the oysters down nicely. The pearl was deep white I bet it would have been anice one someday.

Before I release my innuendo, ...

I'm definietly guessing here, The whole Gulf is a low energy environment as compared to the west coast so we get a lot more sedimentation and a lot less oxidation.. Gulf of Mexico pearls are probably derived from the mucky sediment and layered by the dissolved minerals from the estuaries.

innuendo: Gave him a string of pearls.
