1992 Blue max garage opener question
Anybody have expertise about these old puppies?
I have an opener for my right side door that I would like to reprogram to open the left door. We opened up the opener and the remote and found 12 little switches. We figured putting them all in the same positions would make them compatible. NO such luck. Can someone tell me the secret? Tom W

Your garage door opener may have been new enough to feature "rolling code" security. The 12 DIP switches are for the transmit frequency of the carrier signal. But beyond that, your opener changes the access code every time it's used.
There should be a guide to do this on your garage door opener owner's manual. If you don't have one, the coding operation goes something like this: 1. Push the "code" button on the actual garage door opener. LED should flash repeatedly. 2. Aim remote at opener...LED should stop blinking...remote should now be recognized by the opener. 3. Push remote button. Garage opener should recognize remote and operate as normal. Most openers have a limit to how many remotes can be encoded (like 7 or so). Otherwise, you have to reset the opener and perform the procedure for all existing remotes tied to that opener. Hope this helps!

I don't believe there is any LED light on any part of my devices.

This may not be the exact remote but it should work.
