His point is a pretty good one about safety but I think the observation of race is irrelevent to the safety issue.

Drive in NYC and deal with the courier bikers and you will see real hell.

During all my Manhattan driving adventures, the bikes were going faster than the cars.

Very true........worse is that the cyclists use the pavement as their domain and pedestrians are frequently hit, sometimes severely.

Isn't that statement kinda prejudicial by itself? Kinda similar to me saying blacks are XXXXX or whites are YYYYY or Indians are ZZZZZ? Why is his form of prejudice any worse than what you said?

Have I met some "yankees" that are prejudiced? Sure. Same as southern people, Chinamen, Indians, Russian, French, etc, etc.

casual riders are far less likely to obey whatever arbitrary rules you seem to adhere to. regardless of race.

i could very easily say the same things about white cyclists in the burbs of santa barbara
