Also NSX has always handled better than its contemporaries so I am expecting this one to be a benchmark as well.
The last gen NSX was one an amazing car, light, fast as heck, and handled better than pretty much anything else. Plus unlike a Ferrari which it could keep up with, you can drive an NSX every day and roll 100k miles on it like a proper Honda. It was light and a mid engine design.

As you know I am no fan of Japanese cars, but my take on this new car is we will see. The NSX left some big shoes to fill.

Heck they made the thing from what 1990-2007? Only the SL can get away with production runs that long.

If Europeans could build cars that are not only exciting and aesthetically pleasing to look at, AND dependable, reliable, and relatively inexpensive to own, they would REALLY have something. It's too bad we have to choose between the two.

The Asian knock offs of exotic European cars all seem the be much more reliable and less costly to operate, but the Asian manufacturers seem to lose the soul of the car in the process. Too bad.

The NSX had the soul of the late great Ayrton Senna.

IIRC, they said that there are 3 things in R&D. Money, Time and Project. You can have 2 but not all 3. If you stabilize the Money and Time, you will not know what part of the project you will accomplish. If you stabilize Time and Project, you will not know how much money it will cost. If you stabilize money and project, you will not know how much time it takes. If you can stabilize all 3, what you have is not in the realm of R&D. Pretty much sounds like the rest of life. Can't have it all

Yep, as good as the NSX was it was no Ferrari.

Also it had the wrong badge on the hood.

I'm sure its fast, but the vehicle isn't attractive at all to my tastes.

Now on to hijack the thread with one of my two NSX stories. My first year in college (1990), I came home to play in a golf tournament one weekend at the local country club with my dad. Acura was one of the sponsors and they had an NSX on the hole in one hole*. Well, damned if one of the club regulars didn't ace the shot and win the NSX. Tradition holds that the shot maker buy everyone in the bar a drink, but in this case, everyone bought the lucky guy a drink, then went upstairs to the cardroom. Mr. Big Shot (as he came to be known) got real into a guy for maybe $10K, then $20K and the donee wanted out because he didn't think Mr. Big Shot was going to pay out. Mr. Big Shot got insulted and threw the keys to the NSX on the table to the tune of a $40K credit, lost it and never got to start the car

*for you video-game players, car dealers (or pretty much anyone else) can participate as a sponsor in golf tournaments and, as in this example, give away a car if someone makes a hole in one on a certain hole. they usually display the car at said hole. the dealer can buy insurance to hedge against someone actually making the shot, which rarely happens, or the manufacturer sometimes will go in halves for marketing purposes.
