When the lot is free the margin is nice and you make good money.
Go into the Marines, it's cheaper than going into debt...you could finish school at West Point.

It is a great experience, I spent six years in the Corps. I still miss it sometimes. I have several friends who went in as officers.

In my experience I have met two kinds of ex marines. those who love it and those who hate it.

Most of them seem to love it.

Its the branch which is always in the hottest places with the toughest fighting.

99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999^% of the time. OCS is the college program where they serve in the reserves until being commisioned IIRC.

I know of one verified officer that did not have a college degree, he was a Army Spec4 in Vietnam medi-vac crewman and given a battlefield commission. Both pilots were killed and by himself he filled the Helo with injured soldiers and somehow flew the Huey home. Needless to say he had his shat together in a big way. Even then I think he was only a few credits shy of a diploma.

Again enlisted have more fun.

Mine, approaching the USS Liberty, June 9, 1967, the day after she was attacked by the Israelis during the Six Day War. I was aboard.

If I join it will probably be the Navy. I don't know if I could do subs like my dad did thats tough, but I'd love to be on any surface ship.

And we even had a MARDET (Marine Detatchment) aboard.
This was a memorial service we had June 10, 1967 to honor the men killed aboard the USS Liberty.

See Hatt, it's not all shootin'

The Marines are technically part of the Navy, aren't they?
