Kamen is some kind of whiz all right. They didn't say how people control the arm, I know electrodes in the brain are still in the experiments on monkeys category so that can't be it. They say scar tissue gradually impairs the function of that.
I saw a bit on 60 Minutes (I think) where some guy who was a double amputee, IIRC, at any rate, no use of legs, used one for just about everything. The guy got enormous grief from yay-hoos who just assumed he was too lazy to walk.

That's very cool. I wonder if it will allow someone like the drummer from Def Leppard to regain his old drumming style?
My wife and I rode the Segways around Epcot a few years ago. I could have spent ALL DAY zipping around on them. After riding one for awhile, I lost my "land legs" a bit. It felt like when you first get off the ice from skating.
