TV Tuner for iMac

My kid just bought an iMac (24", 4g/500g memory) and is interested in viewing TV through her iMac. That's never been an interest of mine so I've never looked into it.

She has a job and so this is on her dime. Her dimes are very thin.

Guide us.

That's not a bad price, Howie. Might have to buy one for my older iMac. Have you used it?

As I hijack my own thread ....

Got any suggestions for an external inclosure for a hard drive from a G4 iBook? The demise of the iBook precipitated the purchase of the kid's iMac but the HD is still good and has lots of files worth recovering.

Elgato tuners are the best, and eyeTV 3 is stunning. Some of the generic TV tuner sticks for the PC will work with eyeTV 2 or 3. Some of the generic ones Elgato rebrands for their own. Most of the cost is the software.

The Oxford chipset enclosures are the most compatible. I've heard good things about this enclosure: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817198016

I've been using the ATI's for years and they work great, you can make your mac a DVR as well, since they pick up the digital broadcasts you also get additional stations in most cases.
