Ok, this is a really random question, but what else is open discussion for, eh?

I am looking for a 1 to 4 light bulb socket adapter.

Ie: you screw the adapter into a standard light socket, and then screw four light bulbs into the adapter.

Simple idea, but I don't think I have ever seen one, and I find nothing when I google it. I am looking for this for use with some compact fluorescent bulbs, so it wouldn't have that much draw.

So, does it exist?

Yeah, Like 30 years ago, they were available. I haven't seen one in a long time. It would probably just be easier/safer to change the lighting fixture.

In this case, it is actually for a special purpose where there is a light socket on a stand - so I have to either find an existing product or make the four light adapter myself.

I'd rather trust someone else's wiring/manufacture skills when dealing with 120v, as simple as the wiring would be.

Happily, I've finally identified a manufacturer and a model number and an online source for this item. It is the Satco model 90-464 four light cluster . They are available at LightBulbEmporium.com, among other places. Satco also makes a three light cluster, which is the model 90-463, available from the same source. The one I used in "Nimbus" was a four light cluster that looked just like this one when I bought it; I modified mine by drilling out the rivets holding it together so I could remove the bottom shade fixture bar. While it was disassembled, I separated the two halves of the brown plastic casing and spray-painted them gloss white. Then I reassembled the adapter using screws and nuts with washers and lock washers where there had been rivets before.
