Bladders I know a little about since having bladder cancer. You may have or have not heard.

Drinking cranberry juice is an almost universal thing to keep the bladder clear of infections. It has to work as there are just too many women especially that were plagued with reoccurring bladder infections until they started drinking cranberry juice.

The much shorter length of the passage to the bladder in woman allows a shorter path for bacteria to travel I imagine. The effect cranberry juice may have after an infection is established is unknown to me.

On the other hand it sounds more like your wife has some form of chronic bladder inflammation so the cranberry juice may ease it. I assume on testing there is no infection showing up in urine samples?

I have to add as always I am not a doctor and my knowledge is very limited. At the same time I have seen the inside of my bladder so many times over the years. I possibly recognize it more than my face.

One standard test after every examination is a system using ultrasound to see if my bladder passes almost all the urine out. On some occasions they tell me I was the only one to do so that day. From this alone I suspect most people do not almost totally empty their bladder when they urinate.

It is easy to expect retained urine with the cranberry juice in it may be less irritating to the bladder. At the same time it may also have little effect. Worth a try though. Look it up on the net. I think I will out of curiosity.

Went and read some literature on the net. Bladder cranberry juice. Stale or retained urine indeed is a major irritant to the bladder. You may have already known and tried the cranberry juice.

If not Your wife may want to give it some serious consideration. Ask some health care professionals about it is another option. The way it kills or reduces infections seems to be fairly valid.

There also seems to be some benefit to cases of severe irritation or inflammation. Truthfully I had never heard of serious irritation or inflammation of bladders before.

Doctor's need to get rid of God complex, and listen to the person. She needs a ultra sound of bladder area,to see if complications, from another surgery years ago.Her bladder was scoped,no I.C.But continued pain could be from adhesions, from pirior surgery. This area is so full of drug addicts, every doctor assume a person with pain is one.

Urology is one field that I suspect just burns many doctors out. One contributor is there may just be too much work. All the practicing ones at the hospital I go to are under fifty.

Mine is the department head. He is well liked by patients and nurses.

I did discuss the god complex with a general surgeon here. He told me that so many of his patients expire that he has to keep some mental distance from them. The conversation occurred when he was treating me and seemed remote.

He has been practicing in your state for at least twenty years now. He left our region when he developed women problems was the rumor. He has practiced as a travelling surgeon there as far as I know. As for his work itself it was good and he was very competent.

Tonight we are heading over to Columbus OH for my left hip replacement tomorrow. I am looking forward to a pain free exercise routine soon!

Woo hooo!

My next surgery looks to be my right shoulder....its been acting up for about a month or more now. Its the one I mangled in Hi School football. Although it has been mostly healthy for 50 years it is now acting up. I suspect on ex ray that shoulder looks like a twisted mass of scar tissue.

I'm feeling really good this morning. I'm groggy from the percoset but feeling very good. Getting my finger on the right key is a challange.

I'm gonna go for a walk now.

Sounds like things are going really good. How long is the primary incision? Or is it still bandaged up and unknown? I watched a video of the operation many years ago.

The incision seems fine. We've not had reason to open it yet but will monitor that today as the Mrs. said it has been leaking onto the bandage surface. I just took a dump...first one since the op. That was a relief, next step was going to be an enima.

I may have overdone my walking a bit yesterday.

The area of the incision feels like I got pounded about six times by a baseball bat.

Slept pretty well last night Some pretty wild dreams. I thought I was President Trump and getting out of bed to go to the toilet was a misguided attempt for him to vote by proxy through me... very weird.

I hope your recovery continues to go well for you.
I am a little surprised though, that your wild dreams from the meds didn't include Hillary as President

Logically from what I observed of the operation some real soreness would be expected. Hopefully the pain meds cover it well enough.

They used to drive the pin end down into the marrow area of the bone and still do I imagine. I wondered what precautions they used to insure the length of the leg remained the same at the time.

Any form of a scan of the bone might give them the size in diameter of the shank portion to order I suppose. A point of expected stoppage of the driven taper portion. Into the known diameter of the marrow area of the bone. Also some alignment provision has to be made to not give you a toe in or out so to speak. With that leg.

The great thing is hip joint replacements seem in general to work out well.

There is still time as he will be on the meds for awhile.

I think it was Dennis Weaver in the gunsmoke television series. When asked how he got his limp. He said he once tried to get something from Kitty that did not come in a shot glass.
