One of these antique american beer trucks would be cool as an RV too:

My dad just got a new truck... well new to him.
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0051.jpg I have a 51 GMC panel truck, the one with the windows, the original suburban. my dad got the "new" truck because it has the correct engine for my panel truck. the panel has a Chevy engine in it now, and the GMC is just different enough that it makes the truck less collectible, and my dad always wanted to fix the panel up to factory original. The "new" truck is going to become the fun truck. i'm looking to find a diesel for it. not sure want direction this project will go, but my dad is excited about it, so thats good. |
Very cool Nik ... you bought 'Mater's GMC cousin 'Tater!:D:D

Looks like a fun project Nik! Cosmetic rust aside it looks like it's fairly solid (at least from this angle). It's amazing what decent sheetmetal will do. While I'm a big Cummins fan, I prefer to match the gear to the manufacturer. A chipped Duramax paired with an Allison tranny wouldn't be a bad combo to drop in that beast! :D |

I can't believe that thing opens up into a complete sound stage with lights.:cool:
Whiskeydan needs one of those for Beanstock. |
Its cool, but its built on a 3500 chassi so you can't really do anything with it.
If it was built on an over the road truck you could at least tow 30k pounds with it. NFW can you put a Volvo 160 behind that thing, you would break it. Doesn't even have air breaks, and its got the little 5.9. Someone put a lot of work into it, but not my cup of tea. If I want to drive a real truck I can do that, when I am not at work I want to drive a Mercedes.:D Trucks are freaken loud and ride like crap, you have to wear ear plugs if you are driving the dump truck for any period of time. Not something I want to drive for fun, no thanks. |
