The International CXTs are cool too, but they are a production vehicle and they look more modern. I like this one because it's custom and looks like an antique.

Aluminum cab, wood floors, very nice.

That engine would be easy to work on.

That truck is the peak of cheap oil excesses. In 50 years people will marvel at things like that, dumbfounded at the waste.

People will look back on that truck and say "wow someone put a lot of effort into that thing" Not "jeez what waste they could have made half a dozen ****ty tiny cars out of all that metal so Mistel and all his worthless malcontent looser friends could ride around and feel good about themselves"

But thats Just me.

Nice truck.
Good mileage for the size. I imagine it has got a pretty good towing capacity too.

I was surprised at the MPG too. I had a Blazer that only got 15-17 MPG and this gets 20 MPG.

I've got a semi (pun intended).

I'd put a set of stacks on it, though. Cool little big rig. I'd love to do something similar but with a sleeper cab so I could put some seats in it. I definitely prefer the old school look to the SXT and Ford versions.

Stacks would look cool too, but I like that it has more of a "non-commercial" truck feel without them.

I think they did an amazing job with the proportions of the truck. It looks like the big brother of this one:

I'd like to see someone do a pickup using this cab:

COE's (Cab Over Express) are pretty big in the hot rod realm for use as haulers. I've seen a couple in person (BB gassers) and several featured in tv/mags. I'll see what I can find. Try searching for "COE hot rod" or "COE pickup" and see what comes up.

About 5 years ago we sold two late-40's vintage stainless Freuhauf trailers (a 22' and 25') that had been used for storage (and were definitely worse for wear) to a guy that restored old semi tractors. I always wanted to restore an old semi and match it up with one of them but we really needed the space and replaced them with a couple 48's. And needless to say my finances, storage, ambition and ability don't currently match my vision.

I dunno. I look at that and think 'It's cute but seems like a lot of work for little gain.'
