neighbors and sharks

Here's my new neighbors,

Here's the 200-225 mako we released. One of seven sharks we tangled with that day- 5 the next. All released.

Nice!

Our framer has a 42ft Chris Craft Commander and goes shark fishing out of Montauk a lot. He likes Mako, I hate fish! Fun to catch, horrible to eat.

Whats are those boats? I don't really recognize either. I'm going to say a Trinity on the left and Viking on the right.

My friend used to have his Swan 46 next to a big Hattares 86 I think it was down in St. Thomas. The lizards always hung out on it, and he got free cable off it for years.

Nice 'hood, MTU!

The one on the left has me stumped with the rounded combing around the cockpit. Is that a tower on top of the bridge? The one on the right looks like a new Hatt with that midship porthole. Pretty impressive battlewagons! They could haul my little dinghy up on the deck.

Nice little fishies, too!

I bet that is a new Hatteras with that ugly Euro style BS. They ruined them! Bertram too, the new Bert's are Italian junk. One of my dads friends used to have a Bertram 50, than 54, those were very nice boat's. Very wide, heavy as hell, typical deep V. Much better built than the new ones too.

Thats what a Hatt should look like.

I agree with you on the styling, Hattie. I prefer the older, classic lines. The Carolina flare and lines of the Posts, Davis', etc. are still my favorite. Well, next to those very first generation 34/41 Hatteras'.

Oh, a tick more than that. Anything that big will probably hold around 2000 gals. of diesel. My father's 33' will take a $1000 easy to fill gas tanks.

Thats probably not quite a day of fishing. Multiply 1,800 times say $4, thats a fill up.

This is our framers boat, a 42ft Chris Craft Commander, thats a good looking boat.

I still think the custom boats are the best looking. Rybovich, Jim Smith, Whiticar, Merritt.

Damn, my Sea-Ray is tiny compared to most of those boats....

I think I need a bigger boat...

I have the same problem. I need this damn market to turn around so I can start selling a ton of houses at a crazy mark up.

Swan 57 here I come after that! Maybe with a 23ft Regulator as a fishing/day boat. A 14ft RIB as a hot rod, and a Star boat for some match racing.

Really one boat isn't enough.
