Who here has a tattoo?

If you have a tattoo, post a pic. I'm interested in seeing what people wanted to have on their skin for life.

Post REAL pics, not some google image search pic.

I have a very faded, self-inflicted tattoo of a star on my arm from my misspent youth. It's (thankfully) pretty hard to see now.

I am too fickle to ever put anything that permanent on my skin. I think they look cool . . . . on other people. I hate to tink what all those twenty-somethings with sharp-looking tattos now will look like when they're in their fifties.

Here's what my old tattoo looked like after 18 years: (the artist wasn't very good. It started blurring the same year I got it)

Here's what it looked like during the cover up:

Here it is done:

I'll eventually have it continue into a full sleeve.

I've got three, one of which is explained and shown here:

What does your screen name mean?

the other one is an unfinished irish pride tattoo on my upper right arm, done around the same time as that last one. can't decide if it's worse to have an unfinished tattoo you kind of regret or pay to have it finished and then have a finished tattoo that I kind of regret.

but, the first tattoo i ever got was...drum roll.....a portrait of Chewbacca on my upper left arm. this one i'm still proud of (which i realize sounds ridiculous) but i'm a pretty big star wars fan / geek and have loved chewbacca since i was 5 or 6. i said, what have i loved the longest in my life and "MOM" tattoos are way overdone, so chewy it was. it's been neglected for awhile and needs to be touched up but all my tattoos were actually done by professionals so they don't look too bad, just maybe a couple bad concepts.... I'll post some pics when I take a couple good ones and feel like really embarassing myself.

Yours look cool, Chad. My son (the name-changing spawn) has a tattoo that continues to grow on his right arm. It has elements of each city in which he has lived. It makes for a somewhat interesting story, but I don't find it particularly attractive. Of course, he didn't ask me what I thought . . . .

Now, my younger daughter keeps telling me that she's getting a tattoo as soon as she is of age. I guess that's eighteen. I told her as long as she's a good person and behaves herself, she can put whatever she wants on the outside. I cringe to think of what she's going to come home with one day . . . .

Thanks ... and your words of wisdom to your daughter are touching.

My dad kind of talked me into my first tattoo. He'd be upset if he saw my current one. He was very against the use of color in tattoos. He always said I'd look like an old comic strip if I got any color.

Thanks for the reminder Evan. I still have 11 years 'til I have to deal with my daughter being a teenager. I try to avoid thinking about it for now.
