It just lacked a few details that would have made a big difference. Possible different front end styling but more importantly, it really needed(s) to be pushed farther away from Mercedes. It really should be something that is truly unique. The back seats got it right...its the cockpit and instrumentation that was just way too familiar for me.

Don't get me wrong though, I still love it and hope to buy one...15 years from now.

I think the SLR McLaren is the most refined: you can cruse in ease with Paris Hilton sitting next to you on Sunset Blvd or do the fastest lap on the Nuremberg ring...

I think there mistake was to make the current S550 to close to the Maybach it made the Maybach a little dated. But it's still an impressive car to see and they are not that common like a RR Phantom.

True. Mercedes needs to take a step back and decide if they want to Maybach to be loaded with the latest technology OR make it pure old fashioned luxury as BMW did with Rolls Royce. They can't do both.

Frankly, I want to see Maybach continue forward with being a technological wonder (I have yet to see any other car with that amazing roof) And I still prefer the Maybach 62 over the Phantom every time.

I don't know, I think it would look fantastic sitting in my garage. Since the new Rolls looks like crap the Maybach is the only $400k new car left thats worth buying.

I prefer a LWB W126...I have had a W140, and a C126 (560SEC) and I still think the LWB W126 is the best of t the bunch... The W140 feels like it has no soul to me. The 560SEC was also nice, but it seemed silly to have such a huge car, and not have much interior space. I mean, it's big for a coupe, but why settle when you could have a HUGE rear seat that reclines and has foot rests? It was a no brainer for me, but then I like to haul my friends and family around in comfort.
