Yah...it was "SNAKE IN THE WATER" - that's where I saw it first...and someone "wanted" the moderator to ban him already...

Those one-word descriptives sure can be taken too seriously!!!

Anyways, he's back and hopefully rested up for the next round of battling the inane...

Or, at least providing some levity where it's so sorely needed...Carleton Hughes can't tow the whole boat up the canal by himself!!!

Mgburg: yeah, gotta have photo releases nowadays. Shooter was just doing his job. Guy helping you was of course just helping himself look good and get in the picture. I think the folks in the Shriners picture were all cool with it. I'm kinda surprised the guy helping you didn't wind up with puncture wound to foot.

I realized (at the time...not) that "Mr. Hands" was setting the shot...but it would have been nice to have someone explain the deal and not just have someone jump in like "...the kid will go along w/it..." and then explain nothing at all when all was said and done...

As for the "OOPS! Your foot's bleeding profusely..."

Nope...I wanted his heart...you can (or should be able to) walk off the foot wound...I wanted that guy out of my life...

As it was...when I/we had drawn the arrow back, I'm letting go of the string to shoot it...he's trying to draw the string back to the resting stage with the arrow still nocked up...both of us are lucky NO ONE got any flesh/eye wound from that arrow...these things had fricking hunting tips on 'em! Real deer-downing arrows in the hands of 8yos!!!! How the hell did anyone ever get to see 9, let alone become adults, I'll never know...

Don't go pissing off 8yos...they can (I'm feeling MUCH BETTER NOW! ) harbor some deep resentment when they feel that they've been done wrong...

Not entirely correct. The issue of photographing someone in public has had at least a couple of cases that went to the SC. As example, a case where someone in NY was photographed on the street, without consent or even foreknowledge of the event, and then had their photo show up on the cover of N Y Times Magazine. They sued the photographer and the magazine he worked for, and lost repeatedly, all the way to the SC.

This issue (photographing people in public) has resulted in a number of unique laws related to photography, including in some cases which decided even the number of prints that may be used without violating someone’s civil rights (or creating an obligation to pay the photographed person).

There is a large genre of photography called “street photography” which has a rather rich history of court cases that validated it’s sometimes slimy and always intrusive practice.

In general, if someone is in public there is little they can do to stop their image from being captured and put on most any publications.
