You'll love having a truck, and so will all your friends who move

Has the truck been hit? Looks like an unusual shadow on the bedside panel and the little crease on the fender.

Of course it isn't brand new and not expected to be, I just have zero trust for dealers, especially when someone gets a good deal.

It looks to be on par with a work truck. To be expected.

It's pre-dented to take that first dent/scratch pressure off.

Congratulations, Chris! You've been needed it for awhile. And needing that VW to go away for awhile, too.

Thats a random google picture, but the truck I bought is the same thing. Minus the dent. The one I bought has a very small dent in its front fender the size of a nickel, very minor. Other than that the body is straight.

Its a 2005 with 50k miles on it, dealer serviced by the book, with new brakes and a new battery, newer looking tires etc. Very clean underneath too, it was a local truck. It was a GE fleet truck before. My uncles friend picked 3 up at the auction, I paid $7k, retail is $9k-$10k around here. I just did an autotrader search on that truck this morning and within 100 miles everything similer is $3k more.

One thing I don't like is that it has a cap, luckly it was clamped on so I'm going to take it right off and sell it. If anyone wants a cap PM me, its going on ebay next week. I need a tailgate too since they took that off for the cap.

I'm going to put nerf bars and a bug shield on it like this one, might go stainless on both for some contrast.

I was wondering how that white truck got to be chalk red........ chevy or ford, much better than a Yota. are you sure you want to sell the cap? they are handy for moving things in the rain. and it seems everytime I need to move things it rains, thats why I ended up with an Excursion.

Caps or Excursions?

We cap all of our pickups with high-rise caps with opening side windows. Not just for weather but security, too. Stuff walks off a lot less often.

How is the Ex working out for you? I got an 01 with the dreaded Diode from Ford which made it necessary for a new trans.

Here it is, anyone want the cap?

Who knows about the 4.3 V6's? Do they have intake manifold coolant leaks like other GM V6's? Their is a small leak I can see but I'm not sure if its dripping down from the hose or the joint. I'll figure it out when I start driving it.

We yanked the manifold and resealed it becaue of a coolant leak on the 3.4 in my moms old car.

That's great. Somehow I didn't figure you for a just-go-to-a-dealer kind of guy. For that matter, that probably fits for most of us here. Saw that dealership sign, and the great deal (which it certainly seems to be), and the warning flags went up.

'Bout $300 should buy you a used white tailgate. M&J in Colchester are showing one, so is Dutchers in Morrisville NY

The site I use is -
www.car-part.com

Don't know if you're supposed to be a repair facility or not, but it shouldn't matter.

I was just teasing, Chris. I've never had a vehicle that I hadn't given at least one character mark.

So it's a contractor cap with the two vertical barn doors? Steel or FG?

You should be happy with it. Is it a 6 or 8? I bought one of my salesmen a new '04 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 2WD with the 5.3L that averaged 17mpg before a tree fell on it and folded it in half. The '07 that replaced it averages almost 18 with the 5.3L.

Cap is steel with two vertical doors, and it has a tool box on the drivers side, with a built in ladder rack.

Need one I'll make you a killer deal!
