This happened this morning in my home town. This guy survived an attempt 10 years ago, and faced daily protests outside of his home, office, and church since then. I met him once, and he was a very nice man. A friend baby sat his grandchildren.

I'm not surprised by any means, but I sure am angry. Now these anti-abortion groups are coming out saying how sorry they are, but THIS IS THEIR FAULT. Their mission in life was to demonize this man, with "Truth Vans" with loud speakers doing laps around his office and church, constant screaming protesters, labeling him "Tiller the Killer". It was only a matter of time before these neo-con nut jobs got to someone with an itchy trigger finger. This conveniently happened just after he was found not guilty of charges of illegal late term abortions, the malicious prosecution prosecution accusing him of not seeking a legitimate second opinion.

He was gunned down at church where he was volunteering as an usher. Whether you agree with what he does or not, it was just abhorrent for someone to take him out in such a cowardly way.

these people are animals. adhering to ancient religious text is ridiculous to begin with and then to have the audacity to believe so vehemently that you have some right based on your "faith" to push your ideology onto society as a whole is disgusting. and then when no one will follow your will, you shoot and kill to stretch your influence as far as you can? sick, sad, barbaric, ridiculous and pointless.

and besides, who wants to limit freedom of choices in america? not any patriots i know. if you are truly concerned with abortion as an issue, spend less time judging others and more time teaching people. it's so much easier for them to pass judgment AFTER the fact than it is to actually teach and relate to people.

As one who is proud to be a follower of Christ, I agree with parts of your rant. Also accepting that, as a rant, it contains an amount of hyperbole.
I believe that abortion is wrong, and that God will judge those people involved. However, I see no Biblical warrant that commands me, as a follower of Christ, to be the vehicle of God's judgment. I see where I am to tell people of God's warnings, and to love them, but not to execute His judgment. Judgment is reserved for Him who is the true judge; not man, no matter how well-intentioned he might be.
The people who murdered this doctor must face the justice system ----for current first-time offenders that probably means PBJ. ---if justice is handled as in most other cases.

Well I generally agree with Squables Rant.

I do get upset, sometimes very, when someone refers to me as Pro-Abortion.
I am not in any form for Abortion, I am Pro-Choice.

You (no one specific, in the general term) are Pro-Life, so if someone has a child they do not want, what are they to do with them? Adoption, OK great.
If the Pro-Lifers are so set why are there any children in orphanages here.
My point is solve the first problem, eliminate children in orphanages, then I will consider your position.

Basically from my perspective, I see the Pro-Lifers, protecting the child in the womb. But once born, they want little to do with it.


I repeat, I am not for abortion, and would prefer to limit it to only the most extreme cases.
But not at the expense of taking away freedom of choice.
